It’s that time of the year. The “made up holiday” that so many men despise. The one day of the year that, single-handedly, keeps the greeting card and flower delivery companies afloat.

But, you know what…I don’t mind it at all. You see, I know that, no matter how often I tell my wife I love her, how often I try to show her…it is never enough to repay her for what she brings to my life.

My Love completes me. She is Yin to my Yang. Light to my Dark. Sweet to my Bitter. We are total opposites in many ways, yet that allows us to fit together like two pieces of a puzzle. Where she is weak I am strong and vice versa. Apart, we are each half a person. Together, we can accomplish anything.

I tell her I love her every day. I appreciate her every day. Our lives haven’t been perfect together by any means. A compact as serious and binding as marriage is a lot of work; but anything worth having is worth working for. And although our past together isn’t perfect, our future together is because it is in the Hands of God.

I don’t NEED a made up holiday to remember to show My Love that I care. But, for the woman I’d give my life for, it isn’t that great a sacrifice to set aside one day of the year to celebrate the joy that is mine on this day, and the other 364.

My Love, My Sweetheart, My Darling, My Joy, My Life: Thank you for sharing your life with me baby. I love you.
