Update2: Here is the Good Senator’s contact information if any gun owners out there would care to contact him about any particular issues.
Senator Richard L. Saslaw
(D-Senate District 35)
Virginia Senate Majority Leader
General Assembly Building, Room 613
Richmond, Virginia 23219
P.O. Box 1856
Springfield, Virginia 22151-0856
In an interview today, Saslaw didn’t deny he made the remark. But he added, “How do they know I was referring to them and not the other side? I never said anything other than we must be debating the gun bill. I never said which side. Some of those people must have one hell of an inferiority complex.”
You know, it doesn’t really matter to me what group he was referring to, whether it was us, the anti-gunners or the handicapped people and their helpers who were wandering around the building all day. The undeniable contempt that a statement like that demonstrates for any of his constituents is unacceptable in a public official.
Methinks that the problem is not a feeling of inferiority on the part of any of Mr. Saslaw’s constituents, it seems to be more a problem of a “superiority complex” on HIS part. Perhaps Virginians should assist him with dealing with this terrible emotional disorder the next time he comes up for election.
