I’ve never been much of one to ask for help or share my troubles with others.

I think I could use some help with this one though.

My wife is having surgery on Thursday to have a cyst removed. They’re going to try to do it laparoscopically, but the doc warned her that the chances are good that they won’t be able to get it all that way and they will probably have to open her up.

In that case, she will be out of work for up to 6 weeks while recovering.

The company that she works for recently announced that they were going to begin laying people off on the 29th. She’s worried that she will lose her job if she has to be out that long.

Also, she doesn’t get benefits from her current job so, even if she doesn’t lose her job outright, she won’t be getting any pay while recovering.

Also, she has a history of cancer in her family and she is very worried about it being cancerous and what that will entail.

I’ve tried to be as reassuring as possible. The money situation isn’t great, but we’ve got a little money in savings, we’ve got good credit if we need to tap into that and I can always take on a second job temporarily if needs be.

Basically, I’m not that worried. I know that we’ll make it just fine and I’ve put it in God’s hands as far as the doctors taking care of this and it ending up being benign.

But she’s struggling with worry and fear.

Here’s the bleg: Any Prayer Warriors out there who can help us out would be much appreciated. Drop God a line and put in a good word for her if you don’t mind.

Thanks in advance.
