Well…That was fun.

My wife was taking a shower upstairs a bit ago and I was in here working on the next CZ-82 post when I heard a strange noise in the kitchen. I went to investigate only to discover it was raining.

In the kitchen.

I can’t imagine why, but I didn’t think to take any pictures before calling away the casualty and laying to my damage control station…but, as a result of my shortsightedness, I didn’t get a picture of the downpour cascading from the ceiling and the three globe ceiling fixture with said globes full of water.

Oh well.

I’m sure you can imagine it.

At any rate, I ran upstairs and told my wife to stop what she was doing…which thrilled her of course.

After dropping some towels and a couple of pans down in the kitchen to sop up most of the water, I went investigating.

Here’s what I found.

Apparently a thirsty mouse was hard at work last night digging for water.

In other news…we have mice.

Anyway, a trip to the hardware store and a couple of hours later and watertight integrity has been restored.

Oh…and I now have a tray of rat poison placed at the scene of the crime and several more in strategic locations throughout the attic.

The joys of home ownership never end.
