Hurricane Irene, knocking at the door.
We’re in the Norfolk area, right at the northern edge of the storm. The view from the front porch at about midnight Friday night/Saturday morning. This was using a very long exposure so the rain is hard to see because it’s blurred, but it’s basically just sprinkling right now with very little wind.
I have a feeling that power outages are going to be widespread and lasting in this area so I may not be able to update throughout the storm, but we’ll see what happens.
The last hurricane that hit us (Isabel, several years ago) knocked out power for a week, but the cable connection was still working the whole time. I’ve got a generator, so if I can get an internet connection, I’ll try to bring the computer up long enough to post some updates when I can.
It’s looking like it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
Good luck, Curt. Stay safe.
In our prayers, Curt. Seriously.
