What’s in a name?

This one made me laugh.

Apparently, an MLB player has been suspended for calling a black player on an opposing team “Jackie”.

Josh Donaldson was suspended by Major League Baseball for one game and received a fine for making “inappropriate comments” following an MLB investigation into Donaldson calling White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson “Jackie,”

My first thought was “what moron would object to being associated with Jackie Robinson, one of the greatest baseball players in history?”

Then I read further and got to the backstory:

[in] a 2019 Sports Illustrated article…the White Sox star said, “I kind of feel like today’s Jackie Robinson. That’s huge to say. But it’s cool, man, because he changed the game, and I feel like I’m getting to a point where I need to change the game.”

So, in what world does being mocked for making an incredibly boastful (and ridiculous) comparison between yourself and a prominent historic figure result in punishment for the mocker?

If I ever compared myself to someone of that kind of historic significance, I’d expect to be harassed about it for the rest of my life. And if I complained about it, the mockery would get even worse.

But in Anderson’s case, he can play the black privilege card because mocking him for an egotistical statement that he made about himself in a national news outlet must be racist right?

I watch a game every now and again, but I’m not much of an MLB fan and I don’t know many of the players these days, so I appreciate it when some of them remove themselves from consideration for “players I should care about”. It makes it easier to winnow the list down to the ones who are worth it. Not only is Tim Anderson an egotistical blow hard, but he’s also a whiny little [female dog] who can’t take a joke. Scratch him off the list.

Victims of White Supremacy

Isn’t it terrible that these two blatantly white men had the audacity to violently inflict their whiteness on these poor innocent BIPOC people?

Who can blame these terribly oppressed victims for mostly peacefully defending themselves from the aggressive and violent presence of blatantly and unrepentantly white people in their midst? Who can blame them for then exacting reparations from the obviously racist interlopers in the form of taking their possessions after they’ve been mostly peacefully subdued?

How anyone can view this video and not gain a better understanding of the plight of horribly oppressed minorities in this systemically racist nation is beyond me.

Hat tip to my best friend CB who sent this to me via e-mail.

Another case of Black Privilege?

Unclear at this time, but I have my suspicions.

You may remember the story of the Philadelphia Dunkin’ Donuts murder. The one that proves the lie of the liberal anti-self-defense shibboleth “just give them what they want and you’ll be ok”:

Once inside, the suspect demanded she hand over money from the store office. After taking the money, the suspect shot Lugo in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Well, it turns out that, as has happened so many times in the past, the suspect should have been in prison.

There was no need for Judge Medinilla to let Mr Gibson loose. He was already guilty of violating his probation, and she could have ordered him back to jail without the state having to prove anything else; no trial was required. With the Philly police already pointing to him as a murder suspect, why would any judge in his right mind turn him loose when it was not necessary?

Was this a case of Black Privilege? It’s impossible to really know unless this particular judge had handled a case under similar circumstances but with a white suspect. I’d say the odds of finding such a case are low so we’ll never really know.

But based on the left’s penchant for portraying black criminals as misunderstood and mistreated by the system, I’d have to say my suspicions are strong on this one. I mean, this is hardly a choir boy:

Gibson’s “extensive history of violence’’ and “documented anger issues,” including 64 previous criminal charges, with nine convictions for felonies and 15 for misdemeanors. Besides the manslaughter/weapons conviction, which had been pleaded down from a first-degree murder count, his other offenses included assault and terroristic threatening.

He had also violated probation 14 times over the years.

If ever there was a poster boy for a “three strikes” law, this guy was it. Maybe people shouldn’t be sent to prison for life after three felony convictions, maybe it should be four, or five or some other number, but in my humble opinion, 9 felony convictions including a manslaughter conviction that was plead down from murder one (I wonder how many of his misdemeanor convictions were plead down from felonies?) and 14 probation violations pretty thoroughly demonstrates to me that this guy has no desire or capacity to live peaceably in a civilized society.

But as a result of the lax treatment of criminals associated with the privilege of being black in a country that affords blacks numerous indulgences, a productive, contributing, hard working member of society was brutally murdered AFTER giving the criminal what he asked for.

And then the cities with policies that enable these predators to roam the streets try to blame lawful gun owners and gun manufacturers for their own failures.

And unless the people in charge can get the lax enforcement of our election laws and regulations straightened out before next year’s mid-terms (something I sincerely doubt they’re capable of) it’s only going to get worse from here.

More Black Privilege

I know this is older news being from the ancient times of a couple of weeks ago, and most likely everyone’s moved on to the outrage de jour, but I just ran across it so I thought it was worth mentioning.

We have cops being called murderers for using legitimate deadly force to save someone’s life.

And we have this guy:

The San Francisco District Attorney’s Office has dropped charges against a man who was arrested in connection with last month’s attack on an elderly Asian man in San Francisco.

Grayson is allegedly heard in the video background saying “I hate Asians.”

District Attorney Chesa Boudin said he dropped the charges in favor of having Grayson go through a city justice program.

Apparently, Asian bashing is only a hate crime when a white supremacist (defined as anyone who’s skin tone is more pale than “olive”) is accused of it. When blacks are involved, it’s just a pat on the head and an admonition to “go forth and sin no more”.

Granted, Grayson wasn’t the one actually doing the bashing, he was just a cheerleader who “hate[s] Asians”, but if someone named Billy Joe Jim Bob was charged under similar circumstances I wonder if a city diversion program would be deemed sufficient.

Somehow I doubt it.

All that hand-wringing about Asians being assaulted sure got real quiet when the media discovered the uncomfortable fact that it wasn’t white MAGA supporters doing the assaulting, didn’t it?

By the way: I wonder if San Francisco’s had any luck in figuring out why their crime rate has been skyrocketing over the past few years?

Black Privilege

About two years ago, my wife and I were in the garage and we heard a big bang against the garage door. We quickly went outside and saw a group of black kids walking down the street. Now, normally the race of the kids wouldn’t even have crossed my mind, but it becomes relevant in a few minutes.

My wife yelled over to them, did one of you throw something at our house? They all said no, but then she told them, “we have security cameras, we’re going to find out if you’re lying to us”, at which point one of the kids said that he’d kicked a rock and it “accidentally” hit the garage door. My wife told him, “you should have just said that from the beginning, if it was an accident, just please be more careful”. They went on their way.

So then, we went back and checked the cameras…the kid clearly picked up a rock from the ground and threw it at the house.

Well, they had apparently just been going to the 7-11 on the corner, had done their business and were on their way back in the other direction heading home at about that time. My wife went back out and confronted them again. She told the kid that we had him on video throwing the rock directly at our house, not kicking it. She said something like “we live here, this is our home. How would you feel if I came by your place and threw rocks at your home?” The kid apologized and said he wasn’t trying to hit the house, he was just playing around and threw the rock harder than he intended to. She was in the process of telling him, basically, that’s OK, everyone makes mistakes, just please be more careful and be respectful of other people’s property etc etc etc when one of the other kids in the group yelled out something like “why you gotta pick on the black kids? Are you a racist?”. I have to admit that I’m impressed that she didn’t throttle the kid right then and there, but that’s black privilege right there.

You can’t chastise, argue with, correct, heck even disagree with a black person without being accused of being a racist. Cops can’t even arrest a long-time black criminal without being called racists and G-d forbid one of them get hurt or die while resisting arrest or the cops performing the lawful arrest will be charged and put on trial for it.

If you deny that you are a racist, it proves you are a racist. Blacks can do no wrong and cannot be criticized…oh…unless they’re conservative blacks, then all bets are off, they can be called every name in the book.

That was my convoluted way of introducing this incident:

So, backstory as I hear it: twenty something black “kid” in the neighborhood has been known to cause problems, has a criminal record and has been accused by one of the neighbors of assaulting their daughter, and he’s at that neighbor’s house banging on the door and wont’ go away. The neighbor enlists the assistance of an Army drill instructor who happens to live nearby. Drill instructor tries to get the problem “kid” to leave and that’s where the video picks up.

Of course, we miss the beginning so we have no context, we only see the white guy trying to get the black “kid” to leave the neighborhood. I hear no racial overtones at all in the video but since it’s a white guy against a black “kid”, it’s automatically racist. The Army, the City, the Sheriff, everyone in a position of authority automatically, reflexively and without a moment’s hesitation throws the white guy under the bus. He’s been relieved of duty and will probably lose his job and his pension. He’ll already been charged with assault and will be given the maximum sentence. He’ll be “canceled” from social media if he hasn’t already and he’s been doxxed so the “mostly peaceful” demonstrations have already started in his front yard. He and his family are in danger.

All because he had the audacity of trying to help out his neighbor and neighborhood by getting a problem out of the area.

Black privilege is real and it will ruin your life if you let it. My advice: Keep your head down and don’t get involved. Defend your family and your property and leave everyone else to fend for themselves.

That’s not how I grew up and I hate it, but that’s what our society has devolved into.
